The above are the 'Round 2' areas where OFCOM awarded multiplex licences in 2021, and which are now coming on air in 2022 and 2023. The locations are mainly in Lancashire and North East Wales  and Cheshire, etc.

SMALL SCALE DAB is a system where  low power DAB services are operated, at low cost. The multiplexes (mux) are encouraged to used the newer DAB+ mtheod of modulation, enabling them to carry more stations, at better audio quality and lower bit rates.
SSDAB began with ten experimental licences in 2015 and began rolling out various 'Rounds' from 2021.
