BBC tightens its belt
After 75 years in a plush country mansion just outside Reading, BBC Monitoring has left Caversham Park in a slimming exercise by the Corporation. The BBC's academics, translators and professional listeners are being relocated to London to save £4m.

Minster FM DJ Roxanne Pallett is now recovering at Hull Royal Infirmary after being airlifted there from Bridlington when a car stunt crash went wrong.

Roxanne was previously Andy Sugden's wife in Emmerdale. Roxanne has also appeared as a singer and won the Celebrity Stars in their Eyes and starred in Dancing On Ice. She seems to have found the secret of eternal youth, as she was still playing the part of a teenager in Waterloo Road when she was 29!

After further controversay on a reality TV programme, Roxanne has now left her shows on Minster FM

Former Radio Caroline star DJ Ian MacRae has just released a new episode of his popular podcast “A Radio Station Like No Other”.  It features samples of some of the best of recent programs broadcast by Wilton Bay’s own renegade radio station Seventh Wave FM - uncensored!
There’s a preview of the entertainment at BONKS BRASSERIE AND BAR and this time it’s a truly weird novelty act from Japan. His name is SAIKO FUKUYO. Woz the traffic reporter checks out Wilton Bay traffic in  radio’s weirdest traffic report.

Ian's friend George the one-legged Greek, has written an inspirational poem about being an amputee. And there's another great parody from Brian Coleman saluting Vladimir Putin’s new ballistic missile system. A song that’s right on target!

You can listen to the 2SM morning star's podcast online or subscribe to it for free on iTunes (which has now been rebranded as Apple Podcasts) or Android at this link
(Be aware that some segments can be adult humour and are tagged explicit.

£3m  funds for ILR talk

Community Radio Stations
Guilty of breaching rules

Two community stations in Lancashire and in Oxforshire have been found guilty of breaching profanity rules by the industry's watchdog, OFCOM.  First FM and Lancaster's Beyond Radio are the stations, who admitted the breaches.

Beyond Radio played I Can’t Quit by The Vaccines, which has several swear words, one afternoon, while first played Justin Timberlake's "Sexy Back" just before 8pm.
